Obituary of Judy Katherine Schenk
Judy Shanks Schenk, age 77, of Gallatin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at the Hearth of Hendersonville.
Judy was born in Nashville, TN on April 7, 1942, the daughter of John William and Myrtle (Dews) Shanks. Judy was a loving wife, mother, and Nana. She was devoted to her family, cared for her friends, and active with the Saint Cecelia Motherhouse.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Billy and Joe Shanks, and her husband of 50 years Jim Schenk.
She is survived by her three children Monica (Bill) Ingham of Portland, Danny (Leslie) Schenk of Bellevue, and David (Tracy) Schenk of Hendersonville. She was the proud Nana to six grandchildren: Aubrey, Ethan, Emily, Rachel, Jacob and Julia. Mrs. Schenk was devoted to her SCA Class of 1960, and loved the staff and resident community at the Hearth of Hendersonville.
Visitation for friends and family will be held Friday, August 16, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1729 Stop 30 Rd, Hendersonville, TN with memorial services immediately following at 11:00 AM.
