Obituary of Rebecca Leigh Bell
Rebecca Leigh Bell was born September 14, 1956 in Chicago, IL and she passed away on Tuesday morning, September 18, 2018 in Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin at the age of 62. Rebecca was the daughter of Robert Leroy and Margie Snyder Bell. She was a registered nurse and had her Masters Degree in American Literature. She loved to dance and performed professionally as a flamenco dancer for a short period of time. She was also a member of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville.
Her father preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Joe James; daughters, Minka and Sasha Bell Reed; step-sons, Casey, Wesley, and Andrew James; mother, Margie Bell; brothers, Bob and John Bell; sisters, Jackie and Jenny Bell.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the First Unitarian Universalist Church on Woodmont Blvd in Nashville on October 20 at 2 pm. As Rebecca was a dedicated feminist and ardent defender of women's rights, the family requests that donations be made to Planned Parenthood in lieu of flowers.
